Kids, sometimes you make friends in the most unexpected places. Sometimes, you toddlers become best friends with other children that you didn’t like once upon a time. Sometimes, you make animal and insect friends instead of human friends! This children poem ‘The Spider in My Shoe’ is a perfect example of all three. Here, we have a little boy who hates a spider that is stuck in his shoe, but soon it becomes his best friend that proudly sits on his shoulder wherever he goes. This spider rhyme may not be as popular as the Incy Wincy nursery rhyme, but it helps babies learn how to not fear insects, to not be violent and harm them, but to just let them be. However if your parents get scared seeing a spider on your shoulder next time, tell them this kids song is to blame!
