NICU Day 3 – Dealing with Chloe’s Hyperbilirubinemia & Health Scares

The longer I spend in the NICU with Chloe, the more I am learning how fragile she is. Despite how good she might look, she is not a full term baby and she is going to take a while to get to the place other full term babies are. This is a road I have never been down before and I honestly had no clue how important it truly was to stay pregnant as long as possible. Obviously babies sometimes come early, or have to come early due to an emergency (such as in our case), but in the past I have often secretly hoped to go into labor early simply because my pregnancy was so uncomfortable at the end….I now know and fully understand how each and every day your baby is inside is a blessing!
