Each Year Fisher Price comes out with a New dancing/Musical Mickey Mouse just n time for Christmas. This year Fisher Price changed up the pattern a bit and introduced the Cheerin’ Minnie Mouse. Minnie Mouse has a variety of cheerleading moves and, of course, plays the 1980’s hit “Hey Mickey”

Notes-

– Minnie Mouse has several different cheerleading moves – but only plays one song, “Hey Mickey” – fortunately for all of us – Minnie plays when you begin playing with her, but she does not become overly repetitive.

– Compare to the previous version (Dance Star Mickey, Rockstar Mickey, and Master Moves Mickey) – Cheerin’ Minnie falls in the middle. She is definitely better than Rockstar Mickey… but maybe not quite as cool as Master Moves Mickey

– Sounds a bit mechanical whenever she moves – not a big deal.

– A bit of warning – each year my daughter receives a dancing Mickey – and each year she loves it… for about two weeks. After she has head all of the songs and seen all of the moves she gets a bit bored with it. We hope that Cheerin’ Minnie has a little more staying power since our daughter (she is 4) is going through a cheerleader phase.

– Batteries are included

Final Verdict – While your child may become bored with it after a few weeks the Cheerin’ Minnie Mouse will likely be an immediate hit with your child. While it lacks some of the flash of Dance Star Mickey or last year’s Master Moves Mickey – it still has plenty of moves.

The Octonauts is a popular children’s show on both Disney Junior and on the BBC.

As parents we really like the educational and conservation aspects of the show. The Octonauts search the ocean for various forms of sea life (a Manta Ray comes with this play set). The Octonauts also focus on how to protect ocean life and other aspects of conservation.

Notes

– Comes with the Gup D which is shaped like a Manta Ray – the Gup D comes with a hose to help Barnacles dive, and a net that fires for catching the wild life.

– The Manta Ray changes colors when you put it in the water.

– Barnacles can stand, sit, and dive – he is well designed and can stand on hard surfaces and he nicely fits when sitting in the Gup D.

– All of the toys are designed to be used in and out of water.

– When in the water you can connect the hose (located underneath the Gup D) to the Gup D and Barnaces. When it is first attached Barnacles floats – but as you push the trigger on the Gup D – Barnacles slowing drops below the surface of the water. The diving feature actually works well.

Final Verdict – Nearly a home run – with the exception of the net that doesn’t really fire. The Gup D and Barnacles is fun both in and out of the tub…. and any toy that help make it easier to get your child to take a bath is well worth its cost (or at least it is for us).

The Disney Cars Lego Duplo play sets are a fun way to build some of your child’s favorite Disney Cars characters. The Siddeley saves the Day allows you child to create Special Agent Mater Scenes with the help of Holley Shiftwell and Siddeley. This play set takes a lot more skill (to put together) than the Lego Duplo Special Agent Mater play set – but that is part of the fun.

Notes-

– Both Mater and Holley Shiftwell are pretty easy to put together. However, you can also modify each of them – making them monster trucks… airplanes… or other fun modifications.

– Siddeley may require the help of a parent – in the video I show how Siddelely can be put together, but a parent also need to be helped.

– A toe-hook can be put on the back of Siddeley so that he can lift Mater or Holley, but it has other uses too.

– Due to the complexity in assembling Siddeley this is a play set for advanced 3 year olds – if you are looking for something that is more basic you may want to check out the Lego Duplo Special Agent Mater set.

Final Verdict – Making Siddeley may need the help of a parent, but the Siddeley saves the day play set is a fun way to combine Secret Agent Matere, Siddeley, and Holley Shiftwell into a Lego Duplo Set. The number of pieces in the set allows you to make lots of modifications to all of the characters and should keep your Disney Car fan occupied for quite awhile. Recommended – but only if your child has the patience for a larger Lego Duplo set.
