While other Play Doh sets may feature Mater, Lightning McQueen, or the Disney Princesses – the Play Doh Sesame Street combines Big Bird, Cookie Monster, and your favorite animals into an educational set.

– Comes with molds for making 24 different shapes and animals – including whales, rockets, puppies, cats, trees, and loads more.

– You can make all of the letter of the alphabet, which is fun for making words out of letters.

– Molds for Big Bird and Cookie Monster are included

– Clean up is pretty easy – there are not too many areas for the Play Doh to get stuck.

Final Verdict – There are flashier Play Doh toys but the Play Doh Sesame Street ABC Company may be the most educational play set that we have played with.

Tangled is one of my 4 year old daughter’s favorite movies. The Disney Princess Royal Style Studio Playset allows our daughter to play with Rapunzel and style and change her hair color. My daughter like the toy, but I worry that after a few weeks she will have moved on to something else. As parents we like the fact that all Rapunzel and all of her accessories can be completely stored in the sides of the studio.

Notes-

– Comes with a small Rapunzel that can *stand* on the Royal Style Studio. However, it will be almost impossible to get her to stand on any other surface

– A small application pad is included – by dipping the applicator in the cold water some of Rapunzel’s hair will change colors (from pink to purple). This does require some ice cold water – so if you are concerned about spills… you may not want to introduce this part of the toy!

– Also included are a series of jewels and hair extensions that can be added to Rapunzel’s hair. Although you will want to be careful since these could be choke hazards for younger children.

– Rapunzel can spin around on the stage and directly face the mirror.

– The sides of the studio open and make it appear as a stage – the sides of the studio/stage can be used to store Rapunzel and all of her hair accessories.

Final verdict – I think that this will be a hit or miss type of toy – some children will enjoy styling and changing the color of Rapunzel’s hair – while other may get bored pretty quickly.

Not the best transfer. There are some discoloring issues with this DVD; and it doesn’t seem to be just my copy, as all the copies of this DVD I own have the same issues. But for the most part, it looks really good.

Doc McStuffins is one of the most popular shows on Disney Junior. Doc appeals to both young boys and girls as she mends her toy friends and dispenses helpful advice.

The Doc McStuffins Check Up Center is a fun way for our child to pretend to be a fellow toy doctor. The Center has everything you will need – all of the proper toy medical tools, x-ray centers, and their very own Big Book of Boo Boos. While I would have preferred that it be made of thicker plastic (or even *gasp* wood) it is still a very cool toy for Doc McStuffins fan.

Notes

– Come with a large variety of Doc McStuffins features – an Otoscope, Reflex Hammer, and a syringe

– Pushing the center of the Check-up center causes it to become interactive. Ideally you place you place Lambie in the middle so that Doc can run through her diagnosis.

– Has a X-ray machine with two plates – one showing Lambie with a broken heart and the other shows her with butterflies in her belly.

– Turning the Big Book of Boo Boos causes Doc McStuffins to explain the illness and the diagnosis.

– The Check Up Center looks just like the one in the show

– Has a storage center with doors inside the cabin

– Assembly takes about 30 minutes

– Our unit came with one incorrect piece – one of the side shelves did not fit

– The construction is 100% plastic – which makes it very light but I worry about the overall durability of the set.

– It doesn’t take up as much space as it would appear – you need about a 12″ by 24″ space for it to fit.

Final Verdict – This could be the ideal play set for the Doc McStuffins fan. All of the pieces work well and it is pretty well designed. Overall, it is one of the better toys that I have reviewed in 2013.

A Disney Junior Toy Review by The_Engineering_Family. Disney Junior’s Jake and the Never Land Pirates is one of the most popular shows for both boys and girls under the age of 7. Jake and his pirate crew perform good deeds whiel often foiling the plans of the verbally challenged Captain Hook. Our 4 year old daughter loves the show As parents we appreciate that the show never has a cringe worthy moment (no inappropriate words for preschoolers) and that it promotes friendship and teamwork.

The Jake and the Never Land Pirates Treasure Hunt Laptop allows your child to learn along with Jake. While the games (and more notably the screen) are not near the quality level of a Leap Pad or an actual Laptop it is still a fun (and relatively inexpensive) way for them to play learning games with Jake and his crew.

Notes-

– Has multiple modes and games – shapes, numbers, and other games.

– Has a small touchscreen that can be used with the attached mouse pad. The action key on the mouse are used for movement and selecting options – but note that moving the mouse does NOT move the cursor on the screen (unlike a real computer mouse).

– Jake’s voice on the Treasure Hunt Laptop doesn’t sound exactly like the show – it is very close, but (to my wife’s ear at least) it is different

– Most of the games involves tracing shapes, number, and letters – the games are inspired by Jake and his crew.

– The touchscreen is not backlit which makes it difficult to use in low light settings

– Batteries are included

– Parents may want to learn a little bit how the Treasure Hunt Laptop works prior to letting your child using it – it is not difficult but it may save a bit of frustration.

Final Verdict – The Jake and the Never Land Pirates Treasure Hunt Learning Laptop would probably be served better by having a larger screen, but it is still fun and educational for children. It also has the seal of approval from my teacher wife for it’s educational value.
