I have put together a lot of toys for my daughter, including the Kidkraft Suite Elite Kitchen but nothing has never compared in terms of frustration level to the Little Tikes Cozy Coupe! It can be put together, but it is not fun… I’ve included some pointers in the video portion of the review.

Ok, so the assembly is a nightmare, but once it was assembled our daughter loves her cozy coupe. I mean she really loves it! She likes the little horn on the steering wheel and I like the removable floor. Our daughter is currently 15 months and she is still a little too small to propel herself… she tries but she usually starts to fall underneath the Cozy Coupe. However, we installed the floor she learned that she could sit back and enjoy the ride.

One thing that is worth mentioning is that once this thing is assembled it is pretty robust and seems to be well-built.

Pros-

+ A nice design for both boys and girls

+ The removable floor means that it grows with your child

+ Our daughter loves the little horn on the steering wheel

Cons-

– We have all talked about the assembly – here are a few of my tips
– Use a rubber mallet instead of a hammer
– Forget using a screwdriver – you will need to either pre-drill the holes or use a decent cordless screwdriver (It needs some muscle)
– If you can find videos (in addition to mine) – watch them prior to assembly. Taking parts back off of the Cozy Coupe will make your nightmare that much worse.

– Why can’t they add a few words in the instructions… such as “This part is a sticker”

– It would have been great if there was an optional handle – I can push the Cozy Coupe but I must scrunch quite a bit

– Unless you open the door it is a bit of a challenge to get into and out of… not that big of a deal, but our daughter has not mastered the door yet!

Also, remember that you should never drink and drive the cozy coupe. Primarily because few people who are old enough to drink (21 in the USA) are small enough to fit inside the cozy coupe. However, if you are given a DUI while driving the Cozy Coupe… well you will likely need a top notch lawyer!

I never checked on insurance premiums for the Cozy Coupe. You will need to check with local insurance representative!

Final Verdict-The Cozy Coupe is a great toy if you are up to putting it together!

The FIsher Price Laugh and Learn Sing with Me CD player is a bit of misleading since it doesn’t play CDs. However, it does offer plenty of fun nursery rhymes, colorful flights, and small plastic discs (that are supposed to be the cds). Our daughter started playing with her player when she was younger than 6 months and she still loves playing with it now that she is two. Initially, she just liked the songs and blinking lights – then she advanced to trying to put the CDs into the player and now -she likes to sing-along with songs.

A few other notes

– The CDS don’t actually play – they are just plastic discs

– variable volume settings

– Songs about the ABC’s, 123’s, and nursery rhymes

– The door opens and the players sings “oooppppennn” and then you close it and it sings “Clooossssed”

– Very easy to use – our daughter was able to figure it before she was 6 months old

Final Verdict – One our daughter’s favorites it has helped our daughter develop motor skills (putting the CDs into the player – it is amazing how much she enjoys doing this) plus all of the fun music. It makes a perfect present for your favorite young boy or girl.

The Playskool Eelefun Busy Ball Popper comes from a long line of Playskool ball poppers. Stop. Try to say that sentence five times fast! They all have one thing in common, and that is that kids, mainly toddlers, love them. The Eelefun Busy Ball Popper is also lots of fun, but while it looks cooler than some of the others – it doesn’t quite bring the smiles as the Playskool Explore and Grow Busy Ball Popper.

A few notes –

– Requires 4 D batteries
– Does not have an adjustable volume – so it only one setting, “LOUD”
– The trunk on the elephant rotates. When the balls “pop” to the elephant’s right they roll into the elephants belly – where they are stored. When the balls “pop” to the elephant’s left they roll back into the trunk where the elephant blows them back up into the air (See the video).
– The ball are shot into the air using a small fan that is located near the elephant’s trunk
– Comes in two colors, blue and pink.
– Again, the design is cooler than the standard Playskool Busy Ball Popper

Final Verdict – This is a loud, but fun toy for your toddler. While our daughter prefers the standard Playskool Explore and Grow Busy Ball Popper both toys are staples of day cares throughout the USA.

Elmo’s Alphabet brings together our daughter’s favorite Sesame Street characters, one of her favorite shapes (a school bus), and the alphabet… but for some reason it does not rank highly on her favorite toy list. As you can see in the video the bus features Elmo in the driver’s seat with Cookie Monster and Ernie in the back. Big Bird call out each of the letters as the are pressed.

A few other notes –

– Once the music button is pushed Elmo sings the alphabet
– There are several alphabet games that can be played, but our daughter is still a bit too young to play.
– The wheels on the bus spin, and the bus does roll but it the toy is pretty top-heavy so it falls over very easily.
– Lots of color and a few (red) lights
– Takes 3AA batteries

Final Verdict – Again, I am bit puzzled why our daughter doesn’t play with it more – but since it doesn’t have a volume control I am not too disappointed that this one stays buried amongst her toys.

3 1/2 to 4 Stars
