Facing All Our Fears in 1 Day — Zip Line, Mountain Coasters, Heights & Bears!

Today was another VERY full day! We started off on a super fun mountain coaster and like usual, Owen was scared, but in a surprising turn of events, he realized mountain coasters could be fun and he ended up loving it! After our stop at Rocky Top Mountain Coaster, we went to Gatlinburg and stopped at Anakeesta. This is a place you’d hardly know was there because to get there, you drive in a fairly busy downtown area, but you jump on a ski lift and go to the top of the most peaceful mountain full of stuff to do! It’s an amazing hidden gem in my opinion. Now that we know about it, I can’t wait to go back. Matt, Alyssa, David, Zac and Chris did a super cool tree canopy zip line course while Owen, Michael and I spent time in a refreshing water fountain area. Afterwards, we all went on this climbing adventure course. What I loved about it was that anyone young or old could do this course, and that’s not always the case for these types of things. It was gorgeous and peaceful there. We even had a bear walk up right to where we were about to zipline and someone had to scare it away, which was crazy! On our way down the ski lift, we saw more bears but this part was probably even cooler because the ski lift happened to stop with us RIGHT ABOVE this huge bear that was climbing a tree! I mentioned how badly I wanted to see a bear climb a tree, and it literally happened before my eyes. It was truly magical! After this it was getting dark, but we still wanted to do one more mountain coaster, so we stopped at Rowdy Bear Mountain Adventure Park and rode the coasters in the dark which was SO COOL!!! The tracks were all lit up and it looked so cool. Today was a super fun, super special day for us. I have so many good memories of this day we spent in Tennessee during our road trip.
