We panned for diamonds, gold and stones in real life! The kids had a blast finding their own gems, washing them and trying to figure out what kind of stones they were. We decided to make this stop because, as we drove by the road sign, I remembered that my parents had taken me there as a kid. My sweet animal lover was playing nicely with a new doggie friend when he got a little too much in the pup’s comfort zone and the dog did what is natural and bit him. Luckily it was a small dog because it could have been a lot worse. In this video, we show moments after the attack and follow through to when we return to our hotel where two EMT paramedics came to our room to help us clean Michael’s wounds properly. Road trips can be tricky with a lot of kids, even with the invention of the ipad and tvs in the car (both things I never had as a kid!) We had an especially long driving day but we made it fun for the kids with some eventful stops along the route and of course with SNACKS!! We went after Halloween shopping the morning we left and got some good deals on snacks for the car, and picked up a couple $5 movies that the kids hadn’t seen. So when they weren’t drawing on their Boogie Boards, there was definitely something to do. We reached 4 million subscribers and we celebrated with a the World’s Largest Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich….well, it was more of a frozen yogurt sandwich and it was VERY MESSY, but quite good!
