The Miser and His Gold
Once upon a time there was a Miser who used to hide his gold at the foot of a tree in his garden; but every week he used to go and dig it up and gloat over his gains.
A robber, who had noticed this, went and dug up the gold and decamped with it.
When the Miser next came to gloat over his treasures, he found nothing but the empty hole. He tore his hair, and raised such an outcry that all the neighbours came around him, and he told them how he used to come and visit his gold.
“Did you ever take any of it out?” asked one of them.
“Nay,” said he, “I only came to look at it.”
“Then come again and look at the hole,” said a neighbour; “it will do you just as much good.”
Wealth unused might as well not exist

The Town Mouse and the Country Mouse
A Country Mouse invited a Town Mouse, an intimate friend, to pay him a visit and partake of his country fare.
As they were on the bare plowlands, eating there wheat-stocks and roots pulled up from the hedgerow, the Town Mouse said to his friend, “You live here the life of the ants, while in my house is the horn of plenty.
I am surrounded by every luxury, and if you will come with me, as I wish you would, you shall have an ample share of my dainties.” The Country Mouse was easily persuaded, and returned to town with his friend.
On his arrival, the Town Mouse placed before him bread, barley, beans, dried figs, honey, raisins, and, last of all, brought a dainty piece of cheese from a basket.
The Country Mouse, being much delighted at the sight of such good cheer, expressed his satisfaction in warm terms and lamented his own hard fate.
Just as they were beginning to eat, someone opened the door, and they both ran off squeaking, as fast as they could, to a hole so narrow that two could only find room in it by squeezing.
They had scarcely begun their repast again when someone else entered to take something out of a cupboard, whereupon the two Mice, more frightened than before, ran away and hid themselves.
At last the Country Mouse, almost famished, said to his friend: “Although you have prepared for me so dainty a feast, I must leave you to enjoy it by yourself.
It is surrounded by too many dangers to please me. I prefer my bare plowlands and roots from the hedgerow, where I can live in safety, and without fear.”

Космические жмурки – 53-я серия мультсериала “Пин-код”. Премьера 2015 года. Познавательный мультфильм для детей и взрослых.
31 декабря. Все готовятся к Новому году, Бараш меняет их обычные украшения на украшения в виде овец и просит Совунью специально для него сделать пирог с капустными листьями, хотя никто, кроме Бараша, его есть не будет. Он говорит, что это будет его год – год овцы – и он в этом году персона неприкосновенная. Однако все остальные называют это пережитком и поднимают Бараша насмех. Все собираются за столом, а Бараш обижается и уходит. Копатыч просит Лосяша сказать что-нибудь новогоднее и Лосяш рассказывает о параллельных вселенных – планетах, таких же, как Земля , но расположенных в другой сфере Хаббла. Наступает Новый год. Бараш ещё больше растраивается, идёт к штурвалу и говорит, что лучше бы ему оказаться в параллельной вселенной. Он со злости раскручивает штурвал и Шаролёт попадает в чёрную дыру.

Бараш просыпается, и думает что это сон, но обнаруживает себя в каюте Нюши и, посмотрев в зеркало и не увидев своих рогов, начинает кричать. На крики приходят девочка-кролик и девочка-ёж и называют его Баранкой. Они приводят её в главный зал Шаролёта, где всё украшено игрушками в виде овец, а вместо привычных ему Смешариков – женщина-пингвин, бабушка-ворона, женщина-лось Люся, мальчик-свин и женщина-медведь. Все её поздравляют, а Совунья, оставшаяся прежней, даёт ему пирог с капустными листьями. Бараш понимает, что он в параллельной вселенной и безуспешно пытается объяснить это остальным. Он спрашивает у Люси всё, что в его вселенной говорил Лосяш о сферах, звёздах и галактиках. При слове “звёзды” Люся говорит, что сможет составить гороскоп. Это слово наводит Бараша на Шароскоп – подарок Игогоши (в этой вселенной – Жеребяша) из будущего, который эти Смешарики, в отличие от тех, что из нашей вселенной, всё ещё принимают за ёлочную игрушку. Он спрашивант у Шароскопа про чёрные дыры и, ничего не поняв, пытается направить туда Шаролёт. Когда аналог Нюши ему мешает, он вылетает в суперкостюме, залетает в чёрную дыру и попадает обратно в своё тело и вселенную за пару секунд до Нового года. Теперь Бараш отмечает Новый год вместе со всеми. В последнем кадре он смотрит на звёзды, а затем смотрится в зеркальце в пудреннице Баранки, которую он взял с собой в эту вселенную, но видит там не себя, а Баранку.
