What little girl (or boy for that matter) doesn’t know Dora the Explorer? She is everyone’s favorite bilingual animated star…. Now Fisher-Price has brought us her house fully equipped with a kitchen, couch, Mr. and Mrs. Marquez, their dog, and of course Dora.
In some ways our daughter prefers the Dora Dollhouse over the larger (and more expensive) Fisher-Price Loving Family Dollhouse. it takes up less space (it has about half the footprint). It has a more *open* floor plan so it is easier for our daughter to play. It allows her to act some of the scenes from the TV show, which (I feel) helps to encourage imaginative play.
Features of the Dollhouse
– It may seem like a small thing… but the small doggy door is our daughter’s favorite feature. I wish I had a dollar for each time our daughter had the doggy went through that mini-door!
– The doorbell announces a visitor in both English and Spanish
– There is a small button in the kitchen floor that triggers English and Spanish phrases
– The dollhouse folds up nicely
– Very minimal assembly required
– I may be a bit crazy, but the Dora Dollhouse is a little more representative of a typical home than some of the other virtual castles (like the Fisher-Price Loving Family Dollhouse).
– Additional accessories can purchased.
Final Verdict – A very fun dollhouse for all young girls, but probably the perfect gift for any fan of “Dora the Explorer”
