Nyrius Aries Prime Wireless HD Transmitter

I am a fan of the Nyrius Aries Prime – it allows me to wirelessly transmit an H signal from my computer, cable box, and even my iPad to my HD television. The wirelss connection allows you to eliminate and/or add new devices to your home media center. You can see in the video that I am using it with my iPad to mirror my iPad’s screen on to my television. The primary purpose is to mirror your laptop’s screen to your television, but you will be able to find other uses too.

Notes

– Comes with a HD Transmitter which is slightly larger than a standard USB flash drive. The tranmistter does require power – either through the included AC adapter or a USB-to-mini USB connector (which allows both your laptop or an external battery pack to provide power).

– The HD receiver is about the size of two decks of cards and can be mounted to a wall behind your television. It does require power and comes with a second ac power adapter.

– Also comes with an L-shaped HDMI connector and a HDMI cable

– Supports full HD at 1080P and 3D playback

– I have not noticed any type of latency – except when the unit got hot (Which was being provided by an external source) . Make sure that you do not place the Nyrius receiver on a heat source (like a cable box or anything else that gets hot).

– The transmitter and receivers paired almost instantly – and I was able to go from the box to a complete set-up in 5-10 minutes.

– In the video you can see how I was able to use the Aries Prime with my iPad (although it does require some additional accessories – such as a 30pin-to-HDMI connector).

Final Verdict – The ability to wireless transmit and receive wirelss HD signals offers you a lot of flexibility in your home media devices. The Nyrius Aries Prime allows you to plugin a transmitter into the HDMI port of laptop and immediately begin to stream a wireless HD signal. It is easy to set-up and works very well so it is an easy recommendation.

Cookie monster loves to eat chocolate chip cookies but Elmo prefers to teach us the shapes of figures with this playdoh shape & spin Elmo playset from Sesame Street with the help of Sally & Lightning McQueen Disney Pixar Cars 2. He has 2 modes. In Mode 1, he’ll help you identify shapes and then he’ll count them out as you make them with your play doh. You can make more Sesame Street by stamping out characters with stampers and playdough. Test your learnings by matching up shapes to the playmat. The PlaySkool Showcam 2 in 1 digital camera and projector is my pick to be the most popular gift for Christmas 2013. It is part toy – but it is still a fully functioning camera and projector. While there are a couple of areas for improvement (a bit brighter projector and a higher resolution picture) it is still to be a huge hit with your kids.

Notes –

– Works as a camera – the image quality is similar to circa 2004 camera phones, but it is good enough. Files come in at about 100k, and the low light performance is somewhat lacking. However, your child will never know.

– The pictures can be transferred to your computer using a mini-USB cable – for some reason the cable is not included.

– A flip of the switch turns the camera into a LED projector. Very simple to use and navigate through your pictures – ideally, I would have preferred if the projector was about 25% brighter. Also, the focus of the pictures can be adjusted by turning the camera lens.

– Requires 4 AA batteries.

– In addition to the projector the camera also has a 2″ by 2″ LCD viewing screen.

– Includes special modes (as you can see in the video) that let’s you take pictures as a soccer player, super hero, pirate, various animals and other funny scenes. Many of these special modes are automatically animated and generate sounds.

– Easy to operate – our four year daughter was able to take pictures within a couple minutes. Using the LCD view finder for framing her photos – most of her shots turned out much better than expected.

– Does not feature a flash.

Final Verdict – The PlaySkol Show Cam is probably the top toy that I reviewed in 2013. While I would have preferred if the pictures were a little bit higher resolution – it is still an awesome gift for young (under age 7) children. Buy it early because this is likely to be one of the toys for Christmas 2013. Recommended
