These delightful wildlife stories for pre-school children feature a group of wild, farm and domestic animals. We follow their lives through the four seasons in and around the old school house where they live. It’s Spring and many of the animals are looking for a home and a partner. The rabbits in their burrows, the birds in the roof, are all careful to stay out of the way of the cat who will have her kittens any day now.
In the summer the garden is alive with baby animals, all careful not to go too far from the house in case they meet the fox that lives in the woods. Bernie, the oldest of the baby rabbits, wants to explore and gets quite a surprise when he meets a family of ponies.
Autumn comes and so do the storms, when all the young animals have to hide except the frogs and snails who enjoy the wet weather. The wind always makes Socks, the puppy want to play, but the tortoise and some of the other pets are not quite so enthusiastic. When Emma, the biggest dog at the schoolhouse has her puppies, he will have no problem making new friends.
