Mickey Mouse Clubhouse has always been on my 4 year old daughter’s favorite TV shows. As parents, my wife and I have never really minded her watching it since it is (reasonably) educational and their is nothing even borderline offensive ever shown (although Goofy did once say, “Chicken Butt” – but that is a different story).

The Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Silly Giggles Donald is a little bigger than a rattle but instead of rattling makes Donald Duck noises. These do get a bit of annoying but it does bring some smiles to young faces.

Notes

– Whenever you shake Donald he giggles and or says a variety of phrases.

– Perfectly sized for smaller hands

– Batteries are included

– Does not have any volume control

– Ok for children of all ages (including waddlers and toddlers) since there is nothing comes off there is really no choking hazard.

Final Verdict – The Silly Giggle Donald can be a bit annoying to parents but it will bring smiles to fans of Donald Duck.

We have used a few of the Play Doh Activity buckets and our family has become a fan. While there are bigger and more elaborate playsets available (like the Play Doh Drill N Fill, Play Doh Disney Prettiest Princess, or even the Play Doh Puppies) – the Animal Activity bucket allows your child to make some basic Play Doh animals with only a little bit of practice.

Notes

– Comes with 4 cans of Play Doh – Green, Brown, Purple, and Orange

– Lots of cookie cutter types of Play Doh molds are included – ducks, alligators, rabbits, butterflies, giraffes, horses, and elephants.

– Everything fits and can be stored in the bucket.

– A pretty basic set that is easy enough for children as young as two. On the flip side older kids may not find it challenging enough to keep their interest.

– Clean up is pretty easy – especially by Play Doh standards.

Final Verdict – The Play Animal Activity Bucket allows young children to make some of their favorite animals using Play Doh.

Doc McStuffins is one of the more popular shows on Disney Junior. It appeals to both boys and girls (my daughter and my nephew both love the show) as Doc tends to the needs of various sick and broken toys. Doc has several trusty assistants such as Stuffy the Dragon and Lambie (the lamb!) which is featured in this set.

My daughter has the Doc McStuffins Time for your Check Up Interactive Doll – which is probably key to enjoying this “Make Me Better Playset” since Doc is not included. Keep that in mind, because if you have a choice the Doc McStuffins interactive playset is probably your first choice since a Doc doll is included.

Also, if your son or daughter is a fan of Stuffy the Dragon – there is a separate Stuffy the Dragon Make Me Better Playset too!

Notes

– Come with Lambie the lamb. Lambie has the ability to move her arms and legs – although unfortunately it is very difficult to make her stand on any type of surface.

– A color changing cast is included – cold water causes Lambie’s cast to show all of the writing that is on it. Once it warms up to rom temperature it disappears

– A small container for band aids is included

– A small bottle is included

– A Doc McStuffins doll is NOT included

– I forgot to feature it in the video, but the set also includes a small set of pretend scissors

– The thermometer plays features sounds and phrases from Lambie

– Three small sheets of stickers are included featuring band aids, Lambie and Doc

– Patient wristbands for both your child and Lambie are included

Final Verdict – The Doc McStuffins Make Me Better Playset is a fun playset that compliments the Doc McStuffins Interactive Doll Playset. If you were to choose just one I would recommend the Interactive doll – but the Make Me Better set is also lots of fun for fans of Lambie.

Some of the coolest Play Doh toys are ones that mix together separate colors of Play Doh to make either new colors (Like the Elmo color mixer or rainbow designs (like this set) and the Ice Cream Perfect Twist ) .

The Play Doh Sweet Cafe Swirling Shake Shoppe set is one of my daughter’s favorites. It allows you to mix together a variety of colors to make very real looking shakes and smoothies. It is a bit of an advanced playset so children under the age of 5 will likely need a little help (especially in fastening down the crank for the shake maker).

– Includes a small syringe/extruder for making frosting

– Also includes a small stamp/press for making fruits such as strawberries and bananas.

– The crank can be a difficult to fasten down and to turn – younger children may struggle a bit.

FInal Verdict – A fun playset, but one that will cause you to use lots of Play Doh. The playset isn’t too difficult to clean, but it may be a little advanced for children under the age of 5

Compared to some of the other Disney movies, there really are not many toys on the market that were inspired by the movie Aladdin. There are “Beauty and the Beast, “Little Mermaid”, and “Cinderella Toys” everywhere you look, but Aladdin is a bit of a different story. The toys are a little more difficult to find. The Aladdin Magic Carpet features Aladdin, Jasmine, and Abu riding on a magic carpet.

Our daughter enjoys the Magic Carpet especially in combination with her Disney Princess Palace. She has Aladdin and Jasmine roll up to palace on the Magic Carpet…. to be followed by Cinderella on her coach. So in combination with the Palace it makes a fun accessory.

Notes-

– Comes with Aladdin and Jasmine – Abu is included on the Magic Carpet, but he can not be removed

– By pressing on Abu’s head the Magic Carpet plays one song – unfortunately, it can only play one song….. I am not sure why they didn’t program a few others.

– The Jasmine character works with the Little People Disney Princess Song Palace – where she plays a variety of songs and sound from the movie Aladdin

– The Magic Carpet rolls in a wavy motion to give the appearance that it is flying through the sky

– Batteries are included

– Seems to be pretty durable with no obvious spots for concerns with durability.

Final Verdict – The Aladdin Magic Carpet can be used as a stand-alone toy, but it really makes sense in combination with the Disney Princess Song Palace.

Our family often plays with Play Doh on cold or rainy days. . The Play Doh Dohville Fuzzy Friends Tractor is a fun but relatively basic Play Doh Set. It is fun because it really does look like a tractor, and my daughter likes making the farmer and the pigs hair grow.

Place a small ball of Play Doh in either the pig or the farmer and push down which causes their hair to grow.

Final Verdict – The Play Doh Dohville Fuzzy Friends Tractor is probably more appropriate for younger kids, although they will need fresh Play Doh in order to use the presses.

The Little Mermaid is one of my daughter’s (and her friends) favorite Disney movies. The Lego Duplo Ariel’ Undersea Castle features Ariel and her friends Flounder and Sebastian. A bit of a word of caution – while it is a fun playset it is also a little more advanced. So while a 3 year old may struggle with out the help of a parent – they still will enjoy acting out adventures featuring Ariel and her friends.

Notes-

– Includes Ariel, Flounder and a block with Sebastian on it. Ariel’s arms and head moves – and she bends at the waist. She also has the ability to snapped into place in both the standing and sitting position.

– The castle scene that is pictured on the box is pretty difficult to make. Children under 5 will struggle making anything that resembles the castle on the box

– Comes with a swing, slide, treasure chest, and treasures that can be placed around Ariel’s castle.

– While the playset is rather complex there are lots of castle designs that can be created.

Final Verdict – One of the more difficult Lego Duplo sets, however with the help of a parent most fans of The Little Mermaid will enjoy creating scenes with the Dupo blocks and playing with Ariel and her friends.

Doc McStuffins is one of the most popular shows on Disney Jr. It features a young doctor who cares for and fixes all of toys in her neighborhood. Stuffy the Dragon is one of Doc’s patients and friends – and he has now his own Check Up play set. In truth, it is very similar to the Doc McStuffin’s Check up kit… but it is more geared towards boys. Fortunately, for us, our daughter’s favorite color is blue and she was thrilled to have an all blue doctor kit!

Both playsets are similar except in color (Doc’s bag is pink with purple while Stuffy the Dragon’s is blue trimmed in yellow). The only other difference is that Doc’s Check Up bag comes with a thermometer (although it doesn’t look much like a thermometer).

– Comes with an Otoscope, blood pressure cuff, sound effects stethoscope, stickers, syringe, and a doctors bag.

– The stethoscope plays sounds from Stuffy and the Doc McStuffins show.

– The doctor’s bag isn’t as effective in holding all of Stuffy’s doctor gear as the Doc McStuffins Doctor bag

– Another difference from the Doc McStuffins Doctor bag is that a thermometer is not included (which seems an odd).
