David is officially 9 years old (crazy to even say that!) We had a really fun family day party for him on the day of his actual birthday. We played mini golf, slid on a tall. fast slide, rode in super fast go karts, and went on a bunch of fair rides together. This video just melts my heart. During the last week or so of my pregnancy, Zac kept saying he wanted to learn songs to play on his ukulele so he could play them for baby Owen when he was born. The first song he learned was Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, and he has been playing it for Owen all week. Tonight before bed, the kids all joined in to sing to our sweet new baby. I love that my kids share music together. It makes me so happy to hear them singing and playing instruments together. Everyone has been waiting so long for our new baby to be born, and he’s finally here! This video shows them first meeting their new little brother. He was just a few hours old in the video. I love their reactions. The big kids were just thrilled, and Michael was cautious. He is extremely shy around anybody new (Alyssa was the same way but actually much more shy). We also found out that Michael was running a fever when he visited us. I think it was just from being out in the heat, so thankfully he didn’t get baby Owen sick. His reaction to meeting Owen reminds me a lot of when Alyssa first met David. She didn’t want to touch him, and all she pointed out was that he had finger nails 🙂 I love these memories!
