A Disney Sofia the First Toy Review from The_Engineering_Family. As many of you know Disney does not directly make toys. They license toy manufacturers to make a variety of toys… and everyone should win. In the case of Mattel and Sofia the First, several of the toys have are pretty good (like the Sofia the First – Sofia and Friends Talking Animals) while others needed more time on the development floor (like the Sofia the First Magical Talking Castle). This toy, the Sofia Royal Vanity falls someplace in the middle.
Notes-
– With a push of the button the vanity switches from a picture of Sofia and Amber to a mirror. This is easily the best feature of the playset
– Comes with 3 necklaces and 2 additional tiaras – all of which can fit in the drawer of the vanity. We did have an issue with a couple of the necklaces getting stuck in the drawer, but this wasn’t too big of a deal.
– The Sofia Royal Vanity playset (and the Sofia included) does not work/interact with the Sofia the First Magical Talking Castle.
Final Verdict – A fun but somewhat limited Sofia the First Toy – our 3 year old daughter enjoys it but I have my doubts if she will be playing with it in 6 months.
