We took the family to one of our favorite spots, Waimea Bay and this is definitely a stop you’ll want to make when you visit Oahu. Of course the boys were practically racing Matt to the top of the giant rock to jump off. You’ll have to watch the video to see which family members had the courage to jump off a 30 foot rock! We celebrated National Aunts Day recently! It is becoming a favorite tradition amongst the kids to celebrate this day with their aunts. This year, the aunties went above and beyond by having my dad (papa) cut out wooden letters for each of the kids’ names that they could mod podge collage to personalize. It was a super fun and easy DIY craft for the kids–they loved it! After that, my sister made brownies for the kids to decorate and enjoy. I would say Aunt Day 2018 was a success! We signed the kids up for surf lessons. I figured it would take a few weeks for them to get the hang of it, but they were out there standing up already before I even had the chance to get my camera out! Of course there were some epic wipeouts along the way, but overall it was a super successful first lesson! I am so totally impressed by their abilities in the ocean. First of all they are all so much braver than me –even little Michael tandem surfed with his instructor! Second, I’m just generally impressed that they all got the concept and got up on their boards so quickly! More lesson videos will be coming soon so you can see their progress as they learn to surf. The kids say their next stop will be: jaws, mavericks, north shore, pipeline, sunset beach, ghost tree, banzai ….their list goes on an on (they have high hopes haha). Today we are having a GIANT size pool party!! We filled our entire pool with all kinds of pool floaties. Not only do we have the world’s largest peacock pool raft, but we have a unicorn, dragon, Pegasus, emoji face, dinosaur, donut, bananas, and more!! Who would’ve thought that a fun fishing trip would end up with us catching so many dangerous fish!? We went fishing with our friends and the kids not only caught fish and crabs, but an eel! The eel tangled itself in the fishing line and took a while to free, but we were able to release him safely. We also had yummy rolled ice cream!
