This week we visited an open air market (aloha stadium swap meet) and we tried a fresh coconut for the first time. I have seen people on shows like survivor drinking coconut milk, and it always looks like it tastes so good, but let’s just say it wasn’t anything at all like we expected it to taste. Same for the fruit inside–not how we had imagined it would taste. But we are glad to have tried it (for the first and last time). It was a very, very hot day, so we found a place to cool off. In the evening, we also got some of the best malasadas ever for dessert. We visited the swap market and tried our first coconut. We moved to Hawaii!! We took the kids to a beautiful beach with smooth water so they could learn to body board. The kids just love the ocean, and they took to body boarding quickly! My kids favorite playtime activity lately is to create their own little shops and pretend sell things to each other. They spend a lot of time setting up their shops, deciding prices and creating all the little touches like tip jars, prizes you can win, and little decorations. We gave Chris and Zac a giant candy carnival birthday party for their 8th birthday. It was a super fun day full of inflatable toys, sports, candy and pizza! Today we found ourselves in a middle of a huge downpour! We are loving Hawaii, it’s amazing here! Even the rain isn’t so bad since it stays warm during the rain. The kids still love soccer. David scored a few goals so far this season, and Alyssa almost scored one! This is a big deal for Alyssa who is a little shy and usually asks to play defender. The kids love all the music shops we have visited. Now they’re asking to buy drums… Don’t forget to find the hidden pineapple, it should be very very easy to find today :) Some of you have asked about the blackboard thing we have used for entertainment while in Hawaii. It’s called a Boogie Board and it writes and erases electronicly without using any paper or ink! You also don’t have to charge it!
