We went to the coolest (literally) event! We got to ride bumper boats on ice, we rode trikes on ice, we sledded on man made ice, and we ice skated. We also did a bunch of other super fun things. This holiday season, our family spent the majority of our time working on the biggest charity event we have ever done. We decided to donate clothes, toys and food to over 1,000 people. This was a HUGE task, and I began to think I had bitten off more than I could chew, but we pulled it off! This videos shows the highlights of what we did. We spent about a week buying all the different items, a few days sorting them, and another week donating them. My favorite times would be when we would notice a little kid and by the time they walked by us, we had some clothes for them in their exact size. It is so important to give to others and light the world around you. We all need to be beacons of light in a world that has much darkness in it. We love every one of the people we served this holiday season and we are thankful for the opportunity we had to give back in such a large way this year. Remember, it is not our job to judge who is in need. We do not know the personal situation of anyone we helped, other than finding them doing laundry at a laundromat on Christmas Eve, walking alone, living in their car….or maybe we just had a hunch or saw a mother with a lot of small children, anyone could use a smile because you really do not know their personal situation. We had the most fun with Moose Toys doing a military themed obstacle course, followed by a toy pizza party! We got to check out all the new Grossery Gang toys and watch their newest movie on their YouTube channel! The kids loved playing together and running obstacles in teams as well as in the final round where they got to determine the winner, but everyone won in the end with the yummy dinner we had.
